NGO Projects

Geohumus International GmbH has taken on the task of providing a valuable contribution to the environment, to society and to the future of our planet.  We support small projects in preschools and school as well as large-scale campaigns.

For 2010 a large reforestation project is planned in collaboration with the well-known aid organisation Menschen für Menschen. Menschen für Menschen is a charity organisation focussing on projects in Ethiopia which was founded by Karlheinz Böhm. The foundation developed the principle of the "integrated agrarian project" in order to initiate lasting and sustainable changes together with the local population in the widest range of project areas.

Today only three percent of the land surface of Ethiopia is forested. By comparison, 40% of the country was forested 40 years ago. Causes for the loss of the woodland areas include overgrazing, logging for urgently needed firewood, population growth and climate change, to name a few. Menschen für Menschen is now fighting the advancing desertification. Thus far, 101 million seedlings have been planted for reforestation and a total land surface of 3.038 hectares was reforested.

The aid organisation plans to plant an additional 30 million trees in the coming years. Geohumus will support this campaign!
